What is pretty?

Recently I had a conversation with my boyfriend about working to keep up our appearances for one another. This made me wonder, what is pretty? What makes someone beautiful? What makes someone take a second glance?

This started a Google search. I absolutely love searching Google. When all else fails, ask Google! So when I searched I found many articles explaining detailed ways to apply layers upon layers of makeup. Tips on how to make the make up last long or look more natural. Help selecting the best colors that will complement your eye color and skin tone.

First, let me say I have always admired the work of make up artist. I also admire the average females that can apply a flawless face of make up. Their face looks impeccable. Beautiful. But at the end of the day that isn't for me.

I thought about the work it would take to select the correct shades of foundation, decide if I would use liquid or powder. What color combination will I use on my eyes to bring out my eyes. How will I layer the colors to create the appropriate effect. Let me tell you I am not about that life! I don't care nearly enough about the subject to study, practice, and perfect the art of make up.

The conclusion: Pretty can be whatever I decide. It is up to me to decide what I think is beautiful.

The decision: I love my face in its natural state. I think my face is beautiful without being covered by a face full of make up. With that being said I do now and will continue to wear some make up.

The goal: I need to get much better at my eye make up game. I currently only use two neutral colors of eye shadow. I rotate between four different mascaras because I haven't decided which one works best. I do love my eyeliner. That is perfect. I also need to learn how to apply lip color.

Career Choices

As a twenty-something trying to establish myself in a career I have made decisions, created plans, tried new things, and made new plans. At this moment I am working on creating new plans. My new plans include a career in Project Management.

I have had three very different jobs in the past three years. They all helped me to develop a unique set of skills and experiences. I have decided to combine these skills and experiences into a career in Project Management.

What is Project Management?

Project management, then, is the application of knowledge, skills and techniques to execute projects effectively and efficiently. It’s a strategic competency for organizations, enabling them to tie project results to business goals — and thus, better compete in their markets.

Now I am working on getting my resume together, brushing up on my interview skills beefing up my LinkedIn profile, and networking. Here are a few helpful links I've found.
