At the halfway point I weighed myself as one of the ways to
check my progress. I had lost 8 pounds. At
first I was feeling really discouraged and disappointed by this low number.
Then I came across this picture of what 1 lbs of fat looks like.
It was just what I
needed to take this as a victory. I also
have noticed several changes in my everyday life. The most notable change is
the ability to sit criss cross applesauce (or Indian style) for long periods of
time without my legs going numb! I can also see my clothes getting lose. It’s the small victories in life that mean the
most.
I had a major milestone the other day when a friend told me my face looks skinny!!! It made my entire day!! Hard work definitely pays off in the long run!!
Also, I am currently looking into new challenges as the 40
day challenge will be over this upcoming Saturday. Now I am exploring the idea
of running a 5K and a half marathon.
The Pros:
- I love to run!!
- I think it’s a challenging yet very realistic goal
- It would be great to accomplish each of these goals
The Cons:
- I have no idea when I would find the time to train!!!
Currently I workout Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and
Sunday and the only day I run is during my Sunday workout. I have considered adding some running time
into my Saturday workouts before my class. But running two days a week will not be
enough. My task now is to examine my schedule to see where I can fit in extra running
while still maintaining time for school, work, sleep, and playtime. It’s all
about balance. Be on the lookout for an update on the final decision.
I hope you all continue to find your own victories and inspiration as you continue your own journey to get healthy!!!
