Try Something New 27/40 Days into the Journey


I encourage all of you to try something new and healthy because as with any routine in our lives things that were once new, exciting, and challenging can eventually become dull, mundane, and boring.  I recently found myself feeling bored and unmotivated with my current routine so I mixed things up.  As a result of my new adventures I discovered 3 reasons why everyone should try something new:
1. You might find something new to fall in love with
2. You might find new information to help you on your journey 
3. You might find a new appreciation for your old routine

I decided to try out some new things after I tried a Zumba class. Zumba is just now being introduced at my local gym so I decided to give it a whirl and see what all the craze is about. I didn’t like it at all!! I felt like the class was unorganized and not designed for me to burn enough calories.  I do plan to give it another shot sometime down the road. 

During the past few days I have tried some new things. The first new thing I tried is turkey everything! I started turkey sausage and pepperoni…and I’m in love! It’s wonderful and much healthier!! I also found retried Greek yogurt. I tried Greek yogurt this summer with my brother and we both hated it! Last week a friend suggested I retry it with a different brand.  I tried it and fell in love!!! It was fabulous!!! 



I then decided to shake up my shakes!! I tried a green monster smoothie and whey protein (not together though). First I found a recipe for a green shake that seemed simple and possibly tasty. It included a banana, spinach, and water.  I blended together as instructed and tried my new shake. At first it was ok…then the after taste hit and I thought I was going to die!!! I could barely keep it down! So I just poured it out and moved onto the next shake.


I made a pineapple and strawberry shake. This was my first time using pineapples in a shake! I just added pineapples, strawberries and yogurt then blended. It was delicious! Sweet success! 


Then I attempted to make a shake with whey protein. I decided to try whey protein because I have seen it all over the fitness and health blogs. I wanted vanilla flavored but they were out of stock at the store so I went with the chocolate peanut butter flavor.  I added it to my banana smoothie in place of the coca I normally add. I was amazed at how wonderful it tasted!! 

Moral of the story: Break out of the pattern and TRY SOMETHING NEW!!!
